Meet The Wonder Oven Pro: Our Place’s Most Advanced Appliance Yet

Dining & Wine

When it comes to kitchen innovation, few brands have disrupted the cookware world quite like Our Place. Known for their thoughtfully designed, nontoxic pieces that are as beautiful as they are functional, the brand has built a loyal following on the promise that everyday cooking can be elevated with the right tools. Now, they’re setting a new standard with the launch of their most advanced countertop appliance to date: the Wonder Oven Pro, available September 30.

This isn’t just an update—it’s a full-on reinvention of the best-selling Wonder Oven, engineered to deliver faster, smarter, and more versatile performance. In other words, it’s the type of appliance that doesn’t just live on your counter—it earns its spot there.

A Smarter Way to Cook

At the heart of the Wonder Oven Pro is a newly upgraded digital control panel, which gives you precise command over time, temperature, and even the oven light. This means no more guesswork, whether you’re proofing delicate dough or roasting a chicken to crispy, golden perfection.

The oven also features quartz + stainless steel heating elements, a duo that heats quickly and distributes warmth more evenly across your food. Translation: fewer hot spots, better browning, and faster weeknight dinners.

Designed With Real Life in Mind

One of the biggest pain points of countertop ovens? Mess. Our Place tackles that head-on with a deeper ceramic-coated bake pan, which catches grease and minimizes splatter—while still being easy to clean. The ceramic coating, true to the brand’s ethos, is nontoxic and free of PFAS, so you don’t have to worry about what’s seeping into your food.

Then there’s the size: a generous 30L capacity with 3-tier cooking. This makes it perfect for everything from family dinners to holiday entertaining, where you might need to roast vegetables, bake rolls, and crisp up potatoes—all at once.

8 Functions, Endless Possibilities

Replacing multiple appliances, the Wonder Oven Pro comes loaded with eight cooking functions: bake, roast, air fry, toast, broil, proof, dehydrate, and reheat. Think of it as your microwave, toaster, and air fryer all in one sleek, energy-saving package. For the urban apartment dweller, that’s a space saver. For the suburban entertainer, that’s efficiency.

During our test run, we found the air fry function delivered satisfyingly crisp sweet potato fries with a fraction of the oil, while the proof setting took the intimidation out of sourdough starter. The reheat function impressed us most, breathing new life into last night’s pizza without drying it out—something a microwave has never quite mastered.

VITA’s Test Kitchen Tried It

We put the Wonder Oven Pro through its paces to see if it really lives up to the hype. Here’s how it did:

  • Bread Proofing: The proof function kept dough at a steady, warm temperature—our sourdough rose beautifully without over-drying.
  • Whole Chicken Roast: Crisp golden skin, juicy meat, and no unevenly cooked spots. The digital controls made timing simple.
  • Veggie Roast: Carrots, potatoes, and broccoli came out evenly browned with that perfect edge of caramelization.
  • Sweet Potato Fries (Air Fry): Crispy on the outside, tender inside—no oil slick required.
  • Leftover Pizza: The reheat function revived the crust to its original crunch while keeping cheese gooey.

This isn’t just a countertop oven—it’s a weeknight game-changer.

A Design Lover’s Dream

Of course, Our Place wouldn’t be Our Place without aesthetic appeal. The Wonder Oven Pro comes in Cream, Char, Blue Salt, and Stainless Steel ($450). But the pièce de résistance? A limited-edition Pistachio colourway designed with chef and author Kenji Lopez-Alt. Sleek lines, soft hues, and intuitive controls make this appliance as counter-worthy as any piece of art.

The Verdict

At $425, the Wonder Oven Pro is an investment—but one that easily justifies itself when you consider it replaces three (or more) separate appliances, saves energy compared to a full-sized oven, and makes cooking easier, faster, and more fun. For busy families, design enthusiasts, or anyone looking to level up their weeknight routine, this is one launch worth adding to your wish list.

The Wonder Oven Pro officially launches on September 30 and is poised to be the brand’s most iconic drop yet. Consider it the new MVP of your kitchen lineup. —Noa Nichol

I kinda love how this oven is basically doing the job of like 5 appliances and still fits in a small kitchen — finally some respect for tiny apartments. The pics with the crispy fries got me hungry instantly. And hey, appliances do glitch sometimes, so having oven repair in pittsburgh on speed-dial is a life hack for anyone around there. I like the idea that I can actually proof bread and pretend I’m on a baking show. This thing looks like an upgrade from sad frozen meals to “I actually cooked this, thanks.”
