Big news for emerging Canadian talent—after 11 global editions, the legendary House of Pierre Cardin is bringing its Young Designers Award to Canada for the first time. If you’re a final-year fashion student with a taste for geometry, futurism and fearless ideas, this is your runway.
All final-year fashion and design students aged 18 and up are invited to submit up to three original sketches that reinterpret Pierre Cardin’s signature architectural silhouettes and futuristic spirit. You can choose menswear, womenswear or childrenswear—or mix and match—but judges will be looking for creativity, technical skill, sustainability and a fresh take on the brand’s design codes.
Selected applicants will be invited to a hands-on workshop with Pierre Cardin’s creative team, culminating in an award ceremony on November 12, 2025 at the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montréal. This is a rare chance to get direct feedback from industry leaders and to see your work evaluated on an international stage.
One winner will be invited to join the Pierre Cardin studio in Paris for a three-month residency in 2026. The package includes round-trip travel between Canada and Paris, accommodation and a monthly stipend of €1,000—plus priceless studio time alongside established designers.
“We believe the future of fashion must be imagined in collaboration with the next generation,” says Rodrigo Basilicati Cardin, President and Artistic Director of the House. “This first Canadian edition of the Young Designers Award is more than a competition; it’s a celebration of the creative energy and talent that define Canada’s landscape.”
Applications are open September 1 through October 31, 2025. Your submission should include a completed registration form, up to three sketches, a current enrollment certificate, a portfolio and a photo. Send everything to [email protected].
