Two Canadian, family-founded brands—wellness maker ine+ nutrition and style studio XXL Scrunchie & Co.—have teamed up for a feel-good launch: an exclusive Green Apple Super Greens with collectible packaging designed by Tina Nguyen. More than a pretty pouch, the limited edition channels purpose into product—a portion of proceeds supports Angel Hair for Kids, helping children across Canada who’ve lost hair due to medical conditions. In this Q&A, Talia Lindie, co-founder of ine+, talks about marrying wellness and style, the design and flavour choices, and why purposeful partnerships are the future of Canadian brand building. —Noa Nichol
What inspired this partnership between ine+ nutrition and XXL Scrunchie — how did the idea to pair a wellness product with a fashion-forward collectible come about?
Honestly, the product came later, the partnership started with Tina, the founder of XXL Scrunchie. We’ve watched how she supports small businesses, builds community, and grew a proudly Canadian brand with real heart. Her passion, integrity, and the handmade, high-quality standard she’s set felt like a perfect values match for ine+. Once we decided to collaborate with her, the product story wrote itself. This partnership was really two small Canadian business coming together under one same goal, community. Literally the biggest small business collab coming to life!
Tell us about the creative process: how did Tina’s collectible packaging design and the choice of Green Apple flavour reflect the mission of the collaboration and appeal to both brands’ audiences?
We gave Tina full rein. We knew of her mural artist background, and we’ve followed and admired her work for years, so handing her the creative lead felt natural. She designed the collectible packaging end to end and absolutely nailed it. It’s modern, keepable, and proudly Canadian.
Green Apple was a personal favourite of Tina’s. She tried this flavour earlier and absolutely loved it. The crisp, refreshing and light taste made it easy to build around. Combined with the handmade, colour-matched hair claws and scrunchies she designed to pair with the flavour, which brought everything together.
Philanthropy is central to this launch — why Angel Hair for Kids, and how will the proceeds be allocated (e.g., % of sales, specific project funding, timeline)?
Our decision to support Angel Hair for Kids is deeply personal. Back in 2011, I experienced alopecia areata. At the time, I didn’t know what it was. After being diagnosed with this autoimmune condition, I explored treatment options and was fortunate to go into remission for about three years.
However, in 2014, the hair loss returned, and by the end of December 2015, I had lost all of my hair.
