Powder pink, corset lace, and rosetted heels—Manolo Blahnik’s new Marie Antoinette capsule is pure couture daydreaming. But these aren’t museum pieces—Blahnik translates Rococo whimsy into modern form, letting royal fantasy roam city streets. The result feels both historical and utterly now.
Timed to coincide with the Marie Antoinette Style exhibition at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, the capsule is equal parts homage and reinterpretation, served with theatrical flair. This isn’t the designer’s first royal rendezvous—he crafted about 40 pairs for Sofia Coppola’s 2006 Marie Antoinette, helping costume designer Milena Canonero earn an Oscar for Best Costume Design.
Coppola’s film has since achieved cult status among fashion obsessives and cinephiles—its pastel interiors and indie-rock soundtrack are endlessly referenced in editorials and mood boards—despite mixed reviews on release.
The collection reads like a courtier’s diary: the Valoisette is trimmed with a bow and sparkling brooch, while the Rohan features corset-style crisscross lacing. Sugared pastels anchor the capsule, but Blahnik also explores moodier notes—olive with scarlet piping, cherry tones, and a black satin pair that nods to Antoinette’s final days.
Across 12 pieces, the capsule marries rococo reverie with contemporary sensibility, creating wearable art destined to be the crown jewel of many wardrobes. Wearing a pair in 2025 is to live in double nostalgia—one for Coppola’s stylized Versailles, and one for the original queen, whose image has been romanticized, vilified, and mythologized for centuries. —Maddie Clerides

Intriguing! Manolo Blahnik and Marie Antoinette? A bold combo. I wonder how historically accurate the collection is, or if it’s purely inspired aesthetic. Anyone know?

Intriguing! Manolo Blahnik’s take on Marie Antoinette sounds like a fascinating blend of historical opulence and modern design. I wonder if the collection reflects the darker aspects of her story too?

I didn’t expect this combo to work
Free webtoons, luxury replicas, and overseas golf travel…
sounds random, right? But 69TV somehow makes it flow.
I ended up bookmarking a few golf spots I’d never heard of.
Also found some replica jackets that look pretty decent.
Cool site to explore when you’re bored.
