Remember when glazed donut nails broke the internet? Meet the woman behind the masterpiece. Zola Ganzorigt, celebrity manicurist and OPI Global Ambassador, has created some of the most viral and screenshot-saved manicures, from Hailey Bieber’s glazed donuts nails to Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet tour nails. We caught up with Ganzorigt, who broke down Sabrina Carpenter’s full tour manicure from what to use, exact shades and tips on how to recreate it at home using the OPI Gelement Set. Step 1: Nail Prep
Start by trimming if needed, gently push back cuticles, lightly buff and finish by cleansing away any dust and oils with an alcohol wipe.
Step 2: Base Coat
Next, lay down your foundation with the base coat. Brush on a thin, even layer of the OPI base coat. Give each nail a quick check and cure it under the Gelement lamp for 60 seconds.
Pro tip: make sure to shake the bottle for 30 seconds and cure thumbs separately for an even application.
Step 3: Base Colour
Now you’re ready to brush on the “Glazed Donut”, a shimmery pink semi-sheer nail colour, that gives an instant shine. Think of this shade as the soft-focus filter that makes nails look luxe and dewy. After you’ve applied the colour, cure under the Gelement lamp for 60 seconds.
“I really love this Gelement system because consumers can access the gel polish without having a license,” says Ganzorigt. Since many gel polishes are only available for professionals, Gelement is really accessible, has great shades, and offers salon-quality finish at home, she adds.
Step 4: Create The Kiss Emoji
To add the Short n’ Sweet tour kiss emoji touch, grab a Gelement red shade, Glossy Goddess, a dotting tool and lining brush.
“Put two dots next to each other [for the lip pillow], and then one dot in the bottom for the lower lip,” says Ganzorigt. Drag the dots with the lining brush to make it easier to form the kiss emoji.
Don’t forget to cure the polish under the lamp for 60 seconds.
Step 5: Finish with Top Coat
Lock it all in with a high-shine top coat and cure the nails for 60 seconds under the lamp.
“One thing about this Gelement top coat I really love is the no-wipe,” says Ganzorigt. “So, it’s great for people who like to use chrome powders as well.”
