As peak holiday season begins and thoughts of a new year reset start to linger, wellbeing is at the top of mind for many. It made me wonder, could a new mattress be the secret to better sleep and start the new year refreshed?
To find out whether a better mattress could make all the difference in the mornings, I tested one from Endy for two weeks. The brand promises support, coolness, and options that work for every sleeper so keep reading to find out if it’s worth it. —Farah Khan
The Testing Experience
I got The Endy Mattress, Firm (on sale $716) and Channel Upholstered Bed (on sale $600).
The mattress arrived compressed in a box, while the bed came in two boxes. Packaging for both is very simple and easy to manoeuvre especially if you live in a smaller space. From the moment it arrived, the experience was effortless.
While a helping hand is required to set up the bed, it’s quite a simple process given there are only four major structural pieces to join together. Within minutes of unboxing, the mattress expanded and the surface felt plush yet supportive. While I wouldn’t say it’s an orthopedic type of firm, it is supportive enough given it is a foam mattress.
The first night: Just like any new mattress, there is a bit of an adjustment the first night, but I felt very comfortable. The mattress was firm, cool, breathable, and there was strong back support which I needed. Honestly, I woke up feeling refreshed and less stiff than usual the first night.
After two weeks: By the end of this period, my body felt fully settled into the mattress. Getting in and out of bed was stable, the mattress stayed cool throughout the nights which I loved, and I felt meaningful improvements each day. To top it off, I have an Ultrahuman ring which measures my sleep index and to my surprise, my restfulness score increased throughout my use which is an area that needed attention. My body temperature stayed in an optimal range, I was tossing and turning less and overall well rested.
Aside from the mattress, the Channel Upholstered Bed frame is sleek, sturdy and a solid option that doesn’t wobble or squeak. It has an elevated height, leaving room under the bed for storage and the best part? It’s super affordable for the quality you get.

So, how should side, back, and stomach sleepers adjust firmness and materials accordingly?
“Your sleep preferences should guide you toward the firmness and materials you need,” says Van Kutrowski, Product Experience Lead at Endy.
The firm option (which I got) is great for stomach or back sleepers, the medium-firm one is great for all types of sleepers, and the plush one is ideal for side sleepers.
“Most sleepers find that a medium-firm mattress strikes the ideal balance of comfort and support. Side sleepers can benefit from the extra height and cushioning of a plush mattress for pressure-point relief at the shoulders and hips, while stomach and back sleepers may gravitate to a firmer feel to promote healthy spinal alignment.”
What are the top mattress features that actually improve sleep quality?
Here’s what Kutrowski says:
- Motion Isolation – A great mattress should help you fall asleep — and stay asleep. The high-density transition foam in the Endy Mattress absorbs movement right where it happens, so partners don’t disturb each other while sleeping or getting in and out of bed.
- Pressure Point Relief – When your body weight isn’t evenly distributed on your mattress, you can experience discomfort, numbness, and tingling — all leading to tossing and turning. Endy mattresses are highly responsive, combining our Endy Comfort Foam that cradles the body, transition foam that eliminates pressure points, and support foam that keeps your spine aligned. It’s the perfect balance to help you fall asleep soundly and wake up refreshed.
- Breathability – Heat retention can easily disrupt sleep quality. Endy mattresses are designed with open-cell foam, allowing air to flow freely through the mattress all night to keep you at the perfect temperature. Cooling gel is also infused into the top layers of our mattresses to provide a refreshing, cool-to-the-touch feel as soon as you get into bed.
During a 100-night home trial, what should readers track to judge fit?
“To fully adjust to your new mattress and break it in, we recommend giving your body about 2-3 weeks to get used to it”, adds Kutrowski. “With a 100-night trial period, you’ll have plenty of time beyond that to make sure it’s your perfect fit. Once you’re past those initial weeks, you can start to truly assess whether it’s the right mattress for you.”
Ask yourself:
Are you feeling any pain or stiffness, or do you wake up feeling refreshed?
Do you fall asleep easily and stay asleep, or are you tossing and turning?
Are you waking up hot or sweating during the night, or do you feel cool and comfortable?
Final Verdict
After spending time on The Endy Mattress and Channel Upholstered Bed setup, I can honestly say I liked the balance between support and comfort you get from a foam mattress. One feature I ended up loving more than expected was the cooling feel on the mattress throughout the nights.
From a value-for-the money perspective, both the mattress and bed frame are solid, affordable options compared to many market prices. You get a mattress that works for any sleeping style, the comfort is consistent, support is reliable, and the bed frame that visually looks great in any room. Especially if you’re refreshing your space for the new year, both are practical and functional pieces.
The items only take a few days to arrive so if you’re looking for a last minute gift or room refresh, these are great options to check out.
