The Best Spa & Self-Care Sessions For A Deeply Relaxing Reset

There comes a moment, often around a birthday but sometimes in the middle of an ordinary week, when something inside you whispers, this isn’t it.

The relentless march through to-do lists, deadlines, and low grade panic becomes intolerable. While sure, we’ve all been conditioned to believe that pressure = progress, we also know better. And the science backs this up:  When we feel relaxed, we live a better life. We even become more productive if you really need to know!

Whether you have a birthday this month and, like us, enjoy creating spreadsheets with all the things we want to do (Capricorns!) or maybe you just need something extra special to help you begin this year in a more relaxed state… here are five incredible self-care treatments to check out.

First, the Ayurvedic Head Massage with Parvinder at Isis Wellness in Surrey will transport you. Parvinder works with ancient techniques that calm the mind, regulate the nervous system, and gently release years of stored tension held in the scalp, neck, shoulders, and jaw. Warm oil is applied with slow, rhythmic movements that feel both grounding and expansive. You’ll find yourself taking deeper exhales, and wondering what the H you were so worried about before you came in!

The Acupuncture and Energy Healing with Lisa at Acumamas is a game-changer. Acupuncture alone can be a complete re-set, especially with a skilled practitioner but Lisa Davicioni brings years of international training in TCM, alongside her expertise working in women’s health and hormones. Acupuncture is offered while the energetic field is gently read and harmonized; especially potent if you are moving through transition, burnout, grief, or a period of expansion where your nervous system needs reassurance that it is safe to soften.

Words can’t always capture the magic of an experience, and that is particularly true for Angela Prider’s Private Horse Drum Sound Ceremony. Held within the steady rhythm of the horse drum, this shamanic ceremony draws on plant wisdom to support profound release and realignment. It offers a return to the soul’s deeper intelligence, restoring coherence between body, spirit, and inner knowing. A powerful way to support a transition or personal re-birth.

Astrology, when practiced well, is not predictive. It is orienting. These Personal Astrology Sessions with Andi at The Secret Art of Spacetime, offer a wider lens on your life, the cycles you are moving through, the themes being activated, and the invitations your soul is responding to right now. It is less about what will happen and more about how to move with grace. An incredible way to access divine order in your life.

For deep emotional reconnection, a Mayan Abdominal Massage with Dana Wilson. The abdomen is the body’s emotional and energetic center, a place where stress, trauma, and intuition coexist. Dana’s Mayan abdominal massage works gently and intentionally with this sacred and physical space, supporting digestion, reproductive health, organ function, and circulation. This massage gently engages the organs, restores energetic balance, and helps reset the entire body.

For a deep nervous system re-set, a private soundbath with Faye Mallet is pure luxury, while also being a therapeutic nervous system reset. In these sessions, you’ll be set up to deeply receive. As you tune into the sounds around you, your nervous system has the opportunity to relax and your brain waves will naturally slow and deepen. You’ll enter into brain wave states known as alpha and theta, two states that transition us into the realm of dreams and the unconscious. This is where we access deep rest and renewal.

And finally, one of our go-to’s: the Psychic Facial with Gretchen at Wildflower Beauty Bar in Port Moody. Gretchen’s intuitive facials go far beyond aesthetics, though your skin will absolutely glow. Each session is guided by what your skin and energy are asking for in the moment. Includes facial massage, gua sha, facial reflexology, and a major glow up using Biologique Recherche products. With the option of an intuitive reading, you’ll leave feeling incredibly seen and cosmically supported. This treatment is slow, intentional, and deeply calming for the nervous system.

If you need this reminder, we’re not meant to live in constant tension. Pleasure is regulating. Rest is productive. Celebrating yourself isn’t indulgent; it’s actually intelligent. Whether it’s your birthday, or a moment in time when your soul is asking for more, let this be the year you choose to feel good first. Everything else will take care of itself.

Working in the sales sector can be extremely challenging, especially with long hours of work, tight targets, and constant pressure to perform. With such a busy workday, I can’t get enough time to focus on my health. The busy nature of sales job often makes me taking rest and self-care feel so lazy. Reading this post reminds me that taking time to relax and reset is not a luxury, but something we truly need to stay balanced and healthy.
