A Bow Motif Engagement Ring Is The Most Romantic Design

Vintage vibe engagement rings continue to be one of the most popular styles for 2026. One jaw-dropping ring we’re especially loving belongs to Dove Cameron who announced her engagement on Instagram last month to Måneskin singer Damiano David with a loved-up selfie showcasing her multi-carat Asscher-cut centre stone surrounded by a full halo of diamonds.

The look of Cameron’s ring feels extremely old world thanks to its art deco influence. If you love this aesthetic, and want something similar but even more unique and romantic, might we suggest a bow motif engagement ring.

Iconic jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels has made a bow setting the star of its latest engagement ring design: the glittering Boucle Solitaire. This ring was actually first introduced by the brand back in 2014 as a piece in the Van Cleef & Arpels’ High Jewelry Solitaires collection. This year it returns as a permanent piece in the house’s beautifully curated engagement ring lineup.

The bow motif is one that has a long and storied history with Van Cleef & Arpels beginning with designs dating back to the 1920s. The Boucle Solitaire is crafted in platinum and takes the concept of traditional bow shape and puts a creative twist on via an asymmetric design that mirrors the movement and drape of a delicate satin ribbon. A round brilliant solitaire diamond (you can also choose a sapphire or ruby centre stone) is tied up in a swoop of luminous pavé diamonds. This sparkler is positively swoonworthy, a ring to love not only for its brilliance but for its bespoke, couture-inspired design.
