Travel & Culture

Get ready for the ultimate “hometown hero” moment. David Foster is returning to where it all began—Victoria, BC—to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the David Foster Foundation this August 7 & 8, 2026.

For four decades, this powerhouse Canadian foundation has been “creating more tomorrows” by providing vital financial support to over 1,600 families navigating the grueling journey of pediatric organ transplants. To mark the milestone, Foster is bringing a few of his (very famous) friends along for a weekend that promises to be nothing short of legendary.

The Main Events

Friday, August 7: The Red-Carpet Gala The celebration kicks off with an elegant Black Tie Gala at the Victoria Conference Centre. Expect a high-glamour red carpet featuring philanthropists and community leaders, followed by an exclusive VIP after-party at the iconic Fairmont Empress.

Saturday, August 8: The Inner Harbour Concert In a spectacular gift to the city, Victoria’s Inner Harbour will transform into a world-class stage for the David Foster & Friends 40th Anniversary Concert. Accompanied by the Victoria Symphony, this public event will feature powerhouse musical moments and moving tributes to the families at the heart of the Foundation’s mission.

A Lineup Like No Other

Led by the 16-time Grammy Award winner himself, the weekend’s roster is a verified “who’s who” of talent:

  • Josh Groban (Global Superstar)
  • Katharine McPhee (TV & Broadway Icon)
  • The Tenors (Multi-platinum Vocal Group)
  • Jay Leno (Legendary Comedian)
  • Pia Toscano, Daniel Emmet, & Erich Bergen.

Forty Years of Impact

Founded in 1986 after a personal request from his mother, Eleanor, Foster’s foundation takes the financial weight off parents—covering everything from groceries to rent—so they can focus entirely on their child’s life-saving transplant.

Whether you’re attending the gala or catching the magic at the Harbour, this is a weekend about community, hope, and the incredible legacy of an artist who never forgot his roots. —Noa Nichol
