Just when you thought April Fools’ Day had come and gone, IKEA and Chupa Chups said, actually … let’s make it real. The result? A limited-edition, meatball-inspired lollipop that’s equal parts nostalgic, unexpected, and undeniably on-brand.
Originally teased as a joke, the now very real sweet treat is inspired by IKEA’s iconic Swedish meatballs (yes, with a nod to that signature lingonberry moment). One million of these quirky lollipops are being produced and distributed across IKEA stores worldwide—but here’s the twist: you can’t buy them. Instead, Canadians will be able to try them for free in stores this June.
The collab taps into everything we love right now—playful food moments, a little nostalgia, and a willingness to try something totally out of the ordinary. And honestly? With half of Canadians admitting they have a sweet tooth and more than a third loving to experiment with new flavours, this feels like a very on-point (and very fun) summer drop.
Consider this your official heads-up: your next IKEA run might come with a side of meatball-flavoured candy. —Noa Nichol
