What if your Pinterest board could come to life—literally? With the launch of Bring My Pinterest to Life, the platform is turning saved dreams into real-world transformations (and making them shoppable, too). The show follows creators Drew Michael Scott (@lonefoxhome), Caroline Vazzana (@cvazzana), and Tay BeepBoop Nakamoto (@taybeepboop) as they guide participants through their own deeply personal ‘inspiration to realization’ journey. We caught up with Nadine Zylstra, VP and Global Head of Programming & Originals at Pinterest, to talk about the brand’s first-ever streaming series—and how it’s redefining the journey from inspiration to action. —Noa Nichol
The “Scroll-to-Screen” Pivot: This is Pinterest’s first premium CTV series. What was the most surprising thing about translating the “passive viewing” of a social feed into a high-energy streaming show?
What stood out is that people don’t come to Pinterest to passively scroll. People come to Pinterest because they are looking for inspiration to take offline into their lives. So when we thought about translating that mindset into a show, it wasn’t about making it feel bigger or more dramatic, it was about keeping that sense of momentum. We wanted it to feel like watching something that actually pushes you to try it yourself. And we wanted the Pinners themselves to be in the driver seat and be active participants developing real skills they can take into future projects. It’s an entirely new way to move from inspiration to action, right from your living room.
The QR Code “Magic”: The series features built-in shoppable QR codes. In your opinion, is this the end of the “Where did they get that lamp?” mystery for TV viewers?
That’s definitely the goal. We’ve all had that moment watching something and wondering where it’s from, and this is meant to remove that friction. Each episode comes with QR codes leading to Pinterest boards filled with shoppable products, DIY instructions, and inspirational images from the show. With a tap, audiences can save what sparks their interest, discover new ideas, and make purchases from leading brand partners like Wayfair, eos, and Michaels. And every finished transformation from each episode is pinned back to Pinterest, so the inspiration lives on beyond the show itself.
The “Inspiration to Realization” Struggle: We’ve all pinned things we never actually made. Does this show feel like a “call to action” for the millions of users who are currently sitting on unfinished DIY dreams?
People come to Pinterest with ideas they genuinely want to try, but sometimes don’t know where to start. This series is meant to show that those ideas are actually achievable. This isn’t about perfect, unattainable transformations, it’s about giving people the confidence and tools to take that first step.
The “Vibe” of the Series: If Bring My Pinterest to Life was a Pinterest board itself, what five “aesthetic” keywords would be at the top of the search?
Optimistic, creative, personal, actionable, playful
Future Pinning: Now that you’ve conquered home and style on screen, what’s the next “category” on Pinterest you think deserves its own streaming spin-off?
We’re focused on learning from this launch and evaluating it holistically; viewership on Roku, engagement on Pinterest, and partner outcomes. We’ll specifically be looking at intent signals (saves, searches, board curation) as well as actionable engagement to understand whether we’re delivering real value.
If we see that the series is resonating and driving action, we see a significant opportunity to keep evolving this kind of premium, actionable programming. DIY is a natural starting point, but the broader potential is much bigger given how over 600 million people use Pinterest across categories every month.
