Vancouver foodies, clear your calendars—and come hungry. Time Out Market Vancouver officially opens its doors this Thursday, May 28, and the city’s buzziest new culinary destination is kicking things off with five straight days of free food giveaways from some of Vancouver’s most-loved chefs and restaurants.
Set inside Oakridge Park, the massive 51,000-square-foot market brings together 20 kitchens, bars, cafés, dessert counters and cultural experiences under one roof—making it the first food hall of its kind in Western Canada. And for opening weekend? The first 100 guests each day can score complimentary menu items from featured vendors.
Thursday starts strong with free chicken nuggets from DownLow Chicken, followed Friday by free grilled beef skewers from Mee Bar, chef Chanthy Yen’s hotly anticipated Cambodian noodle concept. Saturday brings complimentary pintxos from España, Sunday features pork belly bao from PiDGiN, and Monday wraps things up sweetly with mango green tea topped with lychee jelly from Boba Run.
The opening lineup reads like a who’s who of Vancouver dining. Think gourmet burgers from Chef Rob Feenie, modern Thai from Nutcha Phanthoupheng, Vietnamese street food from Lunch Lady, pasta from Ask for Luigi, tacos from Santo Taco, pizza from Via Tevere, and seafood from Barnacle by Bar Bravo—all alongside bars, patios, live events and dessert concepts.
Basically? It’s the culinary group chat Vancouver’s been waiting for. —Noa Nichol

What an exciting opening for Vancouver’s food scene – Time Out Market is really bringing together some of the city’s most loved spots under one roof, and the five days of giveaways make it even more tempting to check out early. The lineup alone – fried chicken, bubble tea, and more – already sounds like a win for food lovers.
