Equipoise Nature Resort is a newly designed eco-resort in Ubud, Bali, set among terraced rice fields and lush greenery. The resort is focused on fostering a close relationship with the natural elements that surround the property.

You can sense that as soon as you arrive. Guests are welcomed with a foot-washing ritual, a well-known Balinese custom rooted in spiritual purification. Everything feels tranquil and secluded at Equipoise, as though you’ve stumbled upon your own private hideaway.

The resort is made up of private luxury bamboo villas designed for comfort and relaxation. Each villa has an outdoor private pool that feels like a tropical oasis, and you can even enjoy a soak in the hot tub at sunset. Upstairs, the bedroom gives way to an expansive bamboo ceiling that reaches up toward the sky. Waking up in the large row beds with panoramic views, you feel completely relaxed. The focus here is on unhurried time, setting your own pace and breathing in the essence of Bali.

Dining is centred around Terra Verte, an open-air bamboo restaurant overlooking the rice fields. The Italian/Mediterranean-inspired spot offers an array of fresh dishes on the menu for guests to choose from. Don’t miss a taste of the homemade hummus.

The spa brings together a hammam-inspired experience with traditional Balinese massage techniques. Treatments move between warmth, cleansing rituals, and slow, grounding bodywork using warm oils, designed to release tension and reset the body in a quiet, natural environment.

Beyond the spa, guests can enjoy cultural immersion through hands-on experiences such as batik making, where guests create their own bag using traditional techniques. You can even craft your own silver ring and engrave it—the perfect keepsake to take home with you.

If it’s waterfalls you’re after, you can walk to Manuaba Waterfall, located just minutes from Equipoise, beyond the rice fields. The sound carries through the trees before you see it cascading down and blending with the landscape.

These experiences offer something tactile and personal during your stay—that’s what stays with you. Not just the villas or the views, but the feeling of slowing down and aligning with yourself. —Tiffany Thornton
