Two of Vancouver’s favourite artisan makers have joined forces—and the result is almost too pretty to eat.
Uno Gelato and Mink Chocolates have unveiled a limited-edition collection of handcrafted gelato and sorbetto bonbons, believed to be among the first frozen treats of their kind in Canada. Combining Uno’s award-winning gelato with Mink’s expertly crafted chocolate shells, the collaboration is a dreamy mash-up of two local obsessions.
Each box of eight ($19) features two decadent flavours: creamy Uganda Vanilla gelato with Mermaid’s Choice Rosemary Sea Salt Burnt Caramel wrapped in silky milk chocolate, and bright Passion Fruit sorbetto encased in rich 70% dark chocolate for the perfect sweet-tart bite.
The launch also coincides with Koolfest, where both brands are serving exclusive collaboration desserts. At Uno Gelato, try the Mare a Mare, a maple walnut affogato paired with one of the new milk chocolate bonbons. Meanwhile, Mink Chocolates is scooping Uno’s Uganda Vanilla gelato alongside a luscious white chocolate matcha ganache for a limited-time café creation.
Available through August 4 at all Uno Gelato locations, online, and soon at select Mink Chocolates shops, these irresistible bonbons are proof that when two local artisans combine their talents, delicious things happen. —Noa Nichol
