A Chance @ Bliss: Anthony Redpath Captures The Magic Of A Vancouver Summer

July 15, 2026

Arts

If you’ve ever found yourself lingering a little longer at Kits Beach or losing track of time in a city park on a warm summer afternoon, Anthony Redpath’s latest exhibition will feel wonderfully familiar.

Opening July 18 at Bau-Xi Vancouver, Chance at Bliss brings together a collection of new and selected works from the award-winning Vancouver photographer, whose breathtaking large-scale images transform everyday West Coast moments into cinematic studies of modern life. Through bustling beaches, sparkling pools and lush parks, Redpath celebrates the beauty, colour and energy of Vancouver in summer—while quietly exploring our shared desire to escape the pressures of an increasingly noisy world.

Created by meticulously combining dozens of photographs into a single richly detailed composition, each work rewards viewers with something new at every glance. From afar, they’re sweeping portraits of humanity set against Vancouver’s spectacular natural backdrop; up close, countless individual stories emerge, revealing moments of joy, connection, solitude and reflection.

At its heart, Chance at Bliss is an invitation to pause. As Redpath explains, the exhibition offers “a break or respite from the mental and emotional burden” of everyday life—a reminder that even amid uncertainty, moments of peace and happiness are always within reach.

Chance at Bliss runs July 18 to August 1, 2026, at Bau-Xi Vancouver. An opening reception with the artist takes place Saturday, July 18, from 2–4 p.m. —Noa Nichol
