What do an iconic lipstick and a rising women’s soccer team have in common? More than you might think.
This summer, Clinique Canada has partnered with AFC Toronto and Canadian Women & Sport on a new campaign celebrating confidence, individuality and the power of staying in the game. Aptly titled The Difference is You, the campaign stars AFC Toronto captain Nikayla Small alongside teammates Kaylee Hunter, Nyota Katembo, Zoe Burns, Kaela Hansen and Sarah Rollins—each wearing Clinique’s legendary Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, Canada’s No. 1 prestige lip colour.
The collaboration arrives at an important moment. While women’s professional sports are experiencing unprecedented momentum in Canada, nearly 62 per cent of Canadian teenage girls no longer participate in sports, highlighting the need for greater visibility, encouragement and support. Through the partnership, Clinique is helping shine a spotlight on the confidence, resilience and lifelong benefits that come from staying active.
The campaign doesn’t stop with Black Honey. Beginning August 10, Clinique launches the second chapter, Unstoppable Together, starring the brand’s cult-favourite Moisture Surge™ collection and continuing its celebration of women who redefine beauty by embracing what makes them unique. —Noa Nichol

Partnerships between women’s sports teams and major brands can increase visibility, celebrate individuality, and encourage more young people to remain active. Campaigns are most meaningful when they support athletes beyond promotion and contribute to lasting opportunities in sport.
