If you’re looking for the ultimate way to bid farewell to the last official weekend of winter, we’ve got the sweetest solution. Sugar Shack TO, presented by Redpath, is back this weekend, March 14 and 15, and it’s moving to a brand-new home at the Harbourfront Centre.
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, Toronto’s waterfront will transform into a maple-infused wonderland. Whether you’re a fan of traditional winter fun or you’re just here for the “maple-flavoured everything,” this is the Canadian celebration your social feed has been waiting for.
What’s on the Menu?
Forget basic pancakes; the culinary lineup this year is a total “sweet-meets-savory” dream:
- Fresh Taffy on Snow: Hit up the sugar shacks for that iconic Ontario maple taffy.
- Gourmet Bites: We’re talking maple baked bean quesadillas, smoked maple barbacoa tacos, and maple banana crunch empanadas.
- Sweet Sips: Warm up with free hot apple cider from Redpath or a decadent maple hot chocolate.
Beyond the Bites
It wouldn’t be a Sugar Shack without a little lumberjack energy. Catch Tim Burr, the circus lumberjack, or stomp along to the Great Canadian Fiddle Show—both performing twice daily. If you get a chill, head over to the Billy Bishop Airport warming station to cozy up by the fire pits and watch a live maple sugaring demonstration.

- Taffy Tickets: $5 each or 5 for $20 (debit and credit accepted).
- Weather: Rain or shine, the maple’s fine! Festival producers suggest dressing for the elements so you can enjoy the games and fire pits in comfort.
