Luxury Scotch is getting a high-speed upgrade.
Chivas Regal and its global brand ambassador Charles Leclerc have officially unveiled Chivas Regal 16 Limited-Edition: the first-ever 16-year-old expression in the brand’s history—and Leclerc’s very first signature whisky blend.
And yes, the number matters.
Inspired by the iconic 16 that has followed Leclerc throughout his life and career, the blend brings together 16 whiskies, each aged a minimum of 16 years, developed in collaboration with Chivas Regal Master Blender Sandy Hyslop. At the centre of the blend is the rich complexity of sherry cask-matured Longmorn whisky, resulting in something layered, warm, and distinctly luxurious.
On the nose? Sweet mandarin, raisins, manuka honey, sticky toffee pudding, and cinnamon. The palate leans into orange marmalade, apple cake, toasted oak, dark toffee, nutmeg, ginger spice, and hazelnut before finishing rich, velvety, and lingering. In other words: exactly the kind of whisky you’d expect from a collaboration rooted in precision, performance, and obsession.
“16 has always been more than a number to me—it’s something I’ve carried my whole career,” said Leclerc in the launch announcement. “Going to Scotland, seeing the distilleries, understanding the obsession behind every cask inspired me to create my own blend.”
The launch also marks the next chapter in Chivas Regal’s growing relationship with global sports culture, arriving just ahead of Montreal’s massive race weekend celebrations. To mark the occasion, the brand is planning a series of immersive activations across the city, including tastings at SAQ Sélection Angrignon, curated nightlife experiences, premium cocktail serves, and influencer-hosted moments designed to bring the collaboration to life.
One standout cocktail? The Chivas Regal 16 Riviera Manhattan, combining the whisky with sweet vermouth, Chambord, soda, blackberry, and thyme for a serve inspired by the flavours of the French Riviera.
The limited-edition Chivas Regal 16 will be available nationally at select retailers across Canada ahead of Montreal race weekend. And honestly? This may be the chicest motorsport-adjacent bottle of the summer. —Noa Nichol

That’s cool that Charles Leclerc made his own whisky with Chivas. I like how they used the number 16 because it’s special to him. Would be fun to try it during race weekend in Montreal!
