What happens when beauty meets basketball? If Sephora Canada has anything to say about it, the answer is simple: women get to be everything.
As a Founding and Official Beauty Partner of the Toronto Tempo, Sephora Canada has officially unveiled Pretty Badass, a bold new platform celebrating women who refuse to be defined by a single label, expectation, or stereotype.
At the heart of the campaign is a simple but powerful idea: women don’t have to choose between being pretty and being powerful. Pretty or athletic. Beautiful or brainy. Pretty or badass. They can be all of it—and more.
Bringing the message to life is an impressive lineup of Toronto Tempo stars, including Marina Mabrey, Kiki Rice, Nyara Sabally, Isabelle Harrison, Temi Fágbénlé, and Head Coach Sandy Brondello. Together, they’re helping to push the conversation around beauty and sport forward, showcasing the confidence, individuality, and strength that exist both on and off the court.
But Pretty Badass isn’t just about professional athletes.
To celebrate the launch, Sephora Canada is inviting Canadians to nominate the pretty badass women in their own lives. From June 4 to 11, visitors can head to @sephoracanada on Instagram to share stories of women who inspire them through their resilience, leadership, courage, and authenticity.
Selected nominees will have their stories featured in a national social media campaign and score an unforgettable opportunity to experience the excitement of Toronto Tempo basketball firsthand with coveted courtside tickets.
At a time when conversations around beauty are becoming more inclusive and expansive, Sephora’s latest initiative feels refreshingly relevant. It’s a reminder that beauty isn’t about fitting into a box—it’s about breaking out of one.
And that’s pretty badass. —Noa Nichol
