Courtney Grow has built a loyal following by proving that great style doesn’t come from following the rules—it comes from having fun with them. Now, the New York-based tastemaker, content creator, and mom of four is bringing her signature mix of feminine charm, unexpected edge, and effortless confidence to a new limited-edition collaboration with Reformation. From breezy linen dresses and statement swimwear to shimmering occasion pieces, the 18-piece collection is designed for women who want to look like themselves—just a little cooler. We caught up with Courtney to talk personal style, fashion risk-taking, and the inspiration behind the summer collection. —Noa Nichol
Your personal style has become so recognizable because it mixes feminine pieces with unexpected edge. How did your own fashion philosophy influence the design of this collection with Reformation?
I dress pretty instinctively and mostly follow an internal compass I can’t fully explain beyond knowing when something feels right. I hope this collection gives all women the permission to dress in a way that makes them feel the most like themselves with no rules attached.
Summer wardrobes can sometimes feel repetitive. What are your favourite tricks for making warm-weather outfits feel more interesting, elevated, and uniquely personal? The collection includes everything from easy linen dresses to statement-making sequins and bold swimwear. What are the three pieces you’re packing first for a summer getaway this year, and how would you style them?
In summer I’m drawn to anything that feels a little sun-faded or undone. Unless I’m going all-out to create a moment, I reach for tanks, tees, jeans, shorts. Nothing fussy or precious when walking to coffee gets me glistening like a spin class.
- Wear a bra as a top
- Note: the top in the video is the Euphoria Bikini Top in purple
- Roll your jeans
- Note: the jeans the image are the Foster Jean
- Use color to make basics more interesting
- Ignore all the rules – wear sequins to run errands, wear white all year long, steal your husband’s jeans, etc.
As a mom of four, content creator, and style influencer, you’ve mastered the art of dressing for real life while still having fun with fashion. What advice would you give women who want to take more style risks but aren’t sure where to start?
My advice is actually the opposite of Benjamin Franklin- “dress to please yourself.”
