Won’t you be my Neighbour?

December 24, 2010

With all the cheesy tourist attractions, expensive restaurants and
exclusive velvet-rope clubs in Old Montreal, the only thing that the
neighbourhood lacks is a sense of neighbourhood.

Old Montreal locals can find their local at Philemon, a chic
plateu-esque bar that serves up a stylish wine list alongside simple,
satisfying comfort food. We savoured the pâté fermier ($9) and the
endive salad with walnuts and blue cheese ($9) while sipping a warming
Mendocino 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon ($11/glass) in the relaxed atmosphere.

Welcome to the neighbourhood!

Philemon, 111 St Paul St. W., Montreal.
