A Thomas Haas Holiday

Christmas is coming, and images of sugar plum fairies are already
starting to dance in our heads.

Or maybe it’s more like images of just sugar are dancing through our
heads, in the form of the Thomas Haas’ new chocolate collection made for
the Holiday ’14 season.

Our introduction to this amazing array of cacao creations began with a
tour of the spotless kitchen at Haas’ North Vancouver location and, yes,
there were fountains pouring with white and milk chocolate back there (a
few of us desperately resisted the urge to stick our heads under the
spouts and open wide).

There was something slightly Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-like
about it all, watching workers in white cover chocolate balls in magical
sugar dust and place perfect squares of edible yellow decor on chocolate
squares.

Haas, Vancouver’s modern day Willy Wonka, then presented holiday items
including colourful snowmen and new contemporary-looking Christmas trees
before unveiling limited edition ONE! Chocolate Bars. Made from
exclusive wild-foraged cocoa, these bars have a limited release of
1,000, and each is stamped with its number within the line-up.

Now if only Johnny Depp, circa Chocolat, walked through those kitchen
doors to join Haas, then that would’ve been a real sweet treat.
