To celebrate summer, Poland-based vodka-maker-extraordinaire Luksusowa (it’s made from potatoes, using the same recipe since its creation in 1928) partnered with James Millard of the Toronto-based restaurant Mistura to create three hot-weather-worthy cocktails that can be made at home or, if you’re in The Six, enjoyed at the restaurant from June 24th to July 2nd, 2019. Caesar Lux
2 oz Luksusowa Vodka
6 oz Walter Craft Caesar Mix
6 drops white truffle oil
Combine all ingredients in a shaker and mix using a rolling technique. Pour into a Collins glass rimmed with celery salt and garnish as desired. (More garnish ideas: try a a pickle spear, spicy pickled beans, pickled mushrooms, olives, a lemon wheel … the list goes on. Make it yours!)
Luksusowa Raspberry Sour
2 oz Luksusowa Vodka
1 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz simple syrup
3/4 oz egg white
6–8 fresh raspberries
Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Dry shake first, followed by a second shake with ice. Single strain into a coupe or martini glass. Garnish with two raspberries on a bamboo skewer.
Luksusowa Coffee Cocktail
2 oz Luksusowa Vodka
2 oz espresso or Bialetti Moka stovetop coffee
1/2 oz maple syrup
Combine all ingredients in a shaker and give it a strong shake with cubed ice. Single strain into a coupe or martini glass and garnish with three coffee beans. Tip: to get defined layers, the trick is to shake it really hard.
