Hey, Vancouver: what’s not to love about noshing at some of Railtown’s top restaurants while supporting those less fortunate?
Welcome to the first annual Dine Railtown. Proceeds from each restaurant’s signature dishes will benefit programming at the Powell Street Getaway, one of 42 sites operated by the Lookout Housing and Health Society, whose mandate is to assist people living with chronic illnesses, addictions and/or mental health challenges. From November 1st to November 30th, 2019, feast at nine top eateries like Ask For Luigi, The Belgard Kitchen, The Mackenzie Room and Cuchillo.
“We’re proud of the owner-operated small businesses that have come to define Railtown as a true dining destination in Vancouver,” says Theodora Lamb, executive director at the Strathcona Business Improvement Association. “It’s an opportunity for people to discover some of what this area has to offer through a culinary lens while, at the same time, building connections to the community in which these businesses operate.”
Pick up your copy of the Dine Railtown map, beautifully illustrated by local artist Tom Froese, available at all participating Dine Railtown locations, as well as online on the SBIA website. Participating in the event is easy, as long as you bring your appetite! —Michelle Hopkins
