Ikea‘s new Solglimtar collection (available at British Columbia’s Coquitlam and Richmond locations; not available online). was created to help every corner of your home come alive with the colour and atmosphere of Lunar New Year.
Inspired by peonies, narcissus flowers and plum blossoms, this limited range includes tablecloths, utensils, lighting, decorations and many other home accessories to bring warmth and a richness of red to celebrations with family and friends. Says creative director Ke Chenyi, "We looked back on Chinese traditions for inspiration. We chose China’s national flower the peony to be the centrepiece of this collection’s design. We wanted to express our hopes and wishes for the new year and new spring by using traditional holiday imagery of flowers in full bloom representing prosperity at its peak.”
