With the forecast calling for snow (!), it’s a good thing Vancouver’s annual Hot Chocolate Festival begins on January 18th, 2020.
Running for 28 days (and wrapping on Valentine’s Day), the festival will showcase 114 hot chocolate flavours at 44 local purveyors. Two to try: the Yin-Yang, a double flight featuring a creamy dark Earl Grey hot chocolate and bright yuzu blonde hot chocolate, served with two buttery, house-baked madeleines (from February 1st to 20th only) at Richmond’s Origo Club; and the Aloha Macs, mingling dark-chocolate ganache with steamed macadamia milk, topped with crushed and roasted macadamia nuts and paired with house-made lillikoi (passionfruit) macadamia nut butter cookies at both Vancouver Honolulu Coffee locations.
We can’t think of a better way to warm up this winter! —Vita Daily
