5 Valentine’s Day Meals To Take-Out Or Dine-In

February 1, 2022

A romantic dinner for two to celebrate the annual day of hearts and flowers? Seems like just what the doctor (Bonnie?) ordered. We love the idea of take-out or delivery, or a safe dine-in option, but either way, none of us are cooking on February 14. —Catherine Dunwoody

Edge Catering is one of the best in town, and this heat-and-serve-at-home dinner seems like having our own private chef. Start with charcuterie and cheese, then a main of braised short ribs, salmon wellington, or vegetable strudel, ending with chocolate mousse terrine. Add a bottle of B.C. wine and roses at an extra charge. Place your order online by noon February 9at the latest, and then pick up the 14.

Dinner isn’t your only option for a special nosh. How about a Bacchus Valentine Afternoon Tea at the Wedgewood Hotel instead? Available from February 5 to 27, the menu includes classic high-tea finger sandwiches, pastries, sweets and cakes, for $65 per person. Go fancy and add a glass of Taittinger, Moet & Chandon or hard-to-find vintage champagnes.

Do Chay, Yaletown’s plant-based Vietnamese restaurant, is offering a dinner for two that includes a bottle of sparkling wine. The six-course menu includes coconut sesame crisps, daikon cakes, white truffle Saigon spaghetti and more, plus a coconut lime granita for dessert. $Reservations can be made online or by calling 778-379-2939, plus takeout and delivery options are available.

Railtown Catering helps you create a romantic evening at home, with a five-course ready-to-eat meal that features a duck consommé with foie gras ravioli, a warm lobster salad, beef tenderloin plus wine pairings, flowers and other available add-ons.
