March 16, 2022

Wishing to assist the most vulnerable people, like women, children and the elderly, in Ukraine, Vancouver fashion designer Shelley Klassen is donating $100 from every Sarah Dress sold until March 31, 2022, to United Nations Population Fund, which is dedicated to creating a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every person’s potential is fulfilled. They remain on the ground are currently increasing their operational capacity to deliver life-saving reproductive health services and supplies.

“As a mother of three, having listened to stories of my grandmothers as they fled the same part of the world some 90-plus years ago with children in tow, being shot at by the Red Army, I feel a moral obligation to help” says Shelley. Women continue to bear different and additional burdens of war, but especially in childbirth. The recent bombing of the maternity hospital in Ukraine shows the urgency of the matter.

“We know every little bit counts right now to help one more mother and child get through what is probably the most stressful time in their lives,” she says, adding that her goal is to raise $3000. Shop in store or online and support Ukrainian women today by purchasing the Sarah Dress. —Vita Daily
