Research shows that sleep is crucial for physical, emotional and cognitive health, and while sleeping well doesn’t need to be complicated, it is highly personal. To help you create a customized and all-natural sleep environment that promotes the healing benefits of restorative rest, Canadian brand Resthouse has recently released a step-by-step guide on how to sleep better. See the guide below, and enter to win! —Vita Daily
The 5 Sleep Essentials
Start with the head and neck: proper head and neck alignment is critical for achieving quality sleep. As we are all unique in size and shape, look for head pillows like Resthouse’s own customizable Kakun Organic Pillows, that can be molded and adapted to every individual’s natural structure and form.
Correct alignment and avoid should collapse: deep, rejuvenating sleep can only be achieved if restlessness is overcome. Tossing and turning is a result of alignment being compromised due to incorrect body positioning. Body pillows in varying sizes, like the Kakun Premium Body Pillow, keeps your neck and back comfortably straight and legs supported.
Customize for full body support: every body is different, so it’s no surprise that small, personalized adjustments to an individual’s sleep environment drastically improves sleep quality. With an interchangeable layered design like the Kakun Organic Mattress allow sleepers to adjust their mattress based on their unique bodies, sleep habits and goals.
Maintain ideal sleep body temperature: body temperature plays a fundamental role in the quality of one’s sleep. Sticking to naturally breathable fabrics, like the Kakun Wool Comforter made of organic cotton, ensures natural thermoregulation so sleepers stay cozy and cool all night.
Top with breathable softness: keeping to high-quality, organic materials, low thread count sheets are proven to be thermoregulatory. With breathable sheets, like the Coyuchi Organic Cotton Crinkled Percale Sheet Set, sleepers stay temperature regulated while wrapped in soft-to-the-touch sheets.
Lastly! If you love restorative sleep (who doesn’t!?) and want to be a part of solving the sleep industry’s environmental crisis, you can now become a co-owner of Resthouse through their recently launched Frontfundr campaign. For more information on becoming an investor, check out their FrontFundr page and campaign video here.
