Digital Lavender and Fiery Red are two of the season’s Pantone colours for Spring/Summer 2023. Each is beautiful on its own, but what if we put them together? These two hues styled together pack a real sartorial punch! There is nothing boring about this pairing. It’s giving playful. It’s giving Summer vibes. It’s giving standing out in the crowd. Who wants to give this duo a try? Here is some inspiration as well as some tips for styling up your own lavender + red combos. —Jen Pistor
Look 1: Dress with Cardigan
The vibrant red cardigan and soft digital lavender sandals are unified with this mauve dress + silk neck scarf. The mauve acts as a neutral with both colours popping off the dress. Neutrals don’t always have to be black, white, or beige. The simplicity of the silhouettes allows for the bold colour choices to work together harmoniously.

Look 2: Print Skirt with Tee
The key to this look is to have two matching items in the outfit. The lavender sandals tie in with the soft lavender tee. The red cardigan draped over the shoulders, coordinated perfectly with the red of the skirt. The pattern of the skirt adds depth and interest by adding more colour. I have a rule of three when getting dressed. Three colours, tones, or hues are always more interesting than two. In this case the pattern itself is the third colour.

Look 3: Jeans with Tied Sweater
When looking to make an outfit more interesting, it can be as simple as tying your sweater in an interesting way. When I first tied the sweater on and had the long piece at the back, it felt too predictable and not cohesive with the outfit. By simply shifting the sweater to the side and making the lavender more prominent, the visual it gave was much more pleasing. The subtlety of the red sandal is complimented by the red print kerchief tied to my tank strap.
