We’ve stumbled on a sweet new thirst-quencher, and we can’t wait to serve it at our first summer soiree.
Upson’s Classic Cordials is an Edmonton-made lemonade of Epsom salts, fruit-derived acids, sugar and hand-juiced lemons. The unique recipe was passed down through generations and is now in the hands of local chef Will Kotowicz, who is sweetly sharing his tasty family heirloom with the masses. The Upson’s flavour lineup is garden inspired; choose between Classic Lemonade, Rose Lemonade, or Lavender and Grapefruit cordials ($9 each at District Coffee Co.). The formula can be mixed with sparkling water or, for a five o’clock reward, your favourite liquor.
Give this mix a try:
3/4 oz Upson Classic Grapefruit & Lavender Cordial
1-1/2 oz Gin
Shake over ice and add 1-1/2 oz Prosecco
Now that’s what we call a cordial greeting. —Janis Galloway
