diy: fabric wall art

May 8, 2007

Got a huge wall and a tiny art budget?

Create your own oversized 70s-style wall sculptures with a few yards of vintage fabric (we like Marimekko stretcher bars) from Opus Framing and a staple gun.

Make a frame up to 8-feet square by slotting together four of the Canadian hemlock stretcher bars (no hardware required), then staple the fabric to the back starting in the middle and working your way to the corners.

Voila, your mega masterpiece.

Shop for stretcher bars online at Opus Framing.
