Canadian foodies, you may want to sit down for this: the famous 7-Eleven egg salad sandwich is launching in Canada! Finally, as of March 4, you can get to enjoy the famous tamago sando right here at 7-Eleven Canada locations nationwide.
Inspired by the convenience-store foodie favourite in Japan, the Canadian version is made with cage-free eggs, Japanese Kewpie mayonnaise and fresh shokupan (that’s that irresistible fluffy soft Japanese milk bread ). 7-Eleven executive chef Benny Cheng spent a year developing this authentic take on the sando for the Canadian market, with minor tweaks to the sandwich to suit the Canuck palate (think a slightly greater bread-to-eggy-filling ratio, a moderately less creamy texture, plus a precise level of umami). It’s konbini culture, no passport or flight required.
Available right at your usual corner store, at $5.95, and a decent 14 grams of protein? Snacking’s just about to get more deliciously convenient. —Karen Kwan

This 7 Eleven Tamago Sando launch in Canada sounds egg-cellent – truly a tasty way to bring a bit of Japanese konbini culture to North America. I can already imagine pairing that fluffy milk bread sandwich with a creamy scoop of something cold and sweet. If you’re into indulgent treats, check out https://www.anita-gelato.com/ for some world-famous gelato that could be the perfect dessert after your sando snack.
