LUCK OF THE IRISH

August 30, 2008

Your Irish eyes will definitely be smiling when you hit the newly
relocated Irish
Heather
gastropub.

Admire the Waterford crystal chandelier upon entry, and note the wood
floors, made from barrel staves from the Guiness brewery. Turn down the
hall, and behold the now-adjoining Salty Tongue Urban Deli, with its
40-person dining table and lunchtime take-out counter set against a
soaring wall of brick and copper.

Tucked in the back, out the door and past the patio, is the new Shebeen
whiskey bar, which now holds 60, and is a whimsical meeting of modern
(sculptural red bar stools) and traditional (a round table made from
ship-building molds).

And now that youve worked up an appetite, we recommend the Heather Pot
Pie, a rich, steamy, plate of meat, mash and gravy that will make you
wish for a winter of stormy nights and warm friends.
