In our first apartment, mood lighting consisted of dollar store candles
stuck into empty wine bottles.

Now that our taste has evolved, weve upgraded to Diptyque, arguably the
caviar of candles. For the hols, were stocking up on the limited-edition Basile
Collection
that gives off lovely winter-inspired scents like spicy
amber, woodsy scotch pine, and sweet briar honey.

Did we mention its pretty too? We love the gold geometric motif that
pays homage to a 1960s fabric pattern by founder Christiane Gautrot. At
$95 its a bit of a splurge, but wherever would we put 95 dollar store
candles?
