We love a good popcorn-fuelled romantic comedy as much as the next girl,
but once in a while its nice to sink our teeth into some serious film.
The Festival
International du Film sur LArt (March 17-27) gives us that chance by
screening short and feature length films about architecture, dance,
design, fashion, visual arts and music ($12/ticket). With 227 films from
22 countries, theres plenty to choose from. Weve already pencilled in
Horst Brandenburgs film about starchitect
Zaha Hadid and Farida Khelfas take on fashion
legend Jean Paul Gaultier. Were also tempted by Anna-Celia Kendalls
short film about one of our favourite childhood toys, Lego.
But we might see more. After all, theres nothing wrong with having a
change of art. SL
