New bar Early Mercy‘s, open this month, features 3,500 square feet of space, an oversized bar, a red-and-white gingham wall decorated with lively portraits of world leaders and an overall more approachable and playful vibe than some of the slicker lounges lining King West. The menu offerings are great, too, from refreshing cocktails (we tried the Lincoln, with Ciroc Blue Stone, lemonade and ginger) to sumptuous Food Dudes Food Truck snacks (try the Captain Crunch Fish Taco)
Looks like our prayers for a new neighbourhood hot spot have been answered. —Karen Kwan
