Shokunin

March 17, 2016

This new spot in Mission combines traditional Japanese cooking techniques and flavours with local and seasonal ingredients for a modern take on the cuisine. The tapas-style menu means there are plenty of small plate options, perfect for sharing, like the crispy beef tongue gyoza or the octopus fritters. And, we are happy to report, the bar is just as exciting as the menu with a super impressive selection of sake, crafted cocktails, rice beer (made exclusively for Shokunin in collaboration with Big Rock Brewery) and Japanese whiskey. —Sara Samson
