Fall is here and we have a handful of goodbye summer coping strategies, including 1) invest in a fabulous new coat, 2) book a winter getaway and 3) visit one of our favourite Old Montreal restos for West Coast vibes on the regular.
While the first two are about embracing the cold weather, #3 is all about escapism. Venice MTL, arguably one of the most Instagrammable restaurants in the city, will transport you to its California namesake at first glance. Everything from the décor (light wood and white, with plenty of lush and beachy accents) to the soundtrack (Jack Johnson on repeat, thankyouverymuch) oozes laid-back vibes.
Of course, the menu is no exception: You can’t go wrong with a tasty poke bowl (a top food trend of the moment, in case you’ve been living under a rock), tacos and delicious cold-pressed juices.
If it’s this good now, we can only imagine how wonderful it’ll feel come sun-deprived February. —Christine Laroche
