Knife lovers, rejoice! Chef Douglas Chang (formerly of Bambudda and Sai Woo) has officially opened Ai & Om (Love & Care) in Chinatown this week. Chang has long been known for his passion for Japanese knives of a high calibre and the new store will have a large retail component, selling high-end blades from Japanese artisans.

Chang’s long-standing knife-doctoring side business will also be part of the shop (many chefs swear by his sharpening skills and use his services religiously). The bright, minimalist room will also play host to classes and workshops eventually, as well as knife-related products. Check it out Monday to Saturday, 11am-6pm (closed Tuesdays) and Sunday, 12pm-5pm. —Anya Levykh
