When we heard that the first annual Sunflower Festival was being hosted at the same farm as Tulips of the Valley in Chilliwack, B.C., August 22nd to September 16th, we decided to drive over for a sneak peak—clean air, sunshine, flowers and all!
Featuring five glowing acres and 17 varieties of sunflowers, plus a large-scale hops farm (read: beer garden!), try and look beyond the highly Instagrammable blooms for a custom-made windmill, vintage tractors, swing sets for the littles and food truck offerings ranging from roasted corn and frozen lemonade to bannock.
Once you’ve snapped the perfect photo (or two, or three) for your social feed, stop by the u-pick station to cut your very own sunflower to take home! —Kasia Fryklund
