Hi Sharday! Tell us a little bit about you and what do you do!?

I’m a mom of two and a lifestyle blogger who likes to show that style doesn’t have to fade as soon as baby comes on the scene. I’m currently on mat leave, so most days you’ll find me dropping off my daughter at preschool before heading out on a walk around the neighbourhood with my baby boy (coffee in hand, of course!). Every week or so, it’s fun to get dressed up and head out to an industry event, or even dinner with some girlfriends.

How do you use your platform to impact other moms—and parents—who follow you?

With my most recent pregnancy and birth of my son, I’ve tried to be a lot more real with my readers. Whether it’s about sharing the most recent toddler meltdown we went through or asking for advice on breastfeeding issues, I see my platform more of a two-way conversation than a one-way monologue. I’m still learning and growing as I venture through this crazy roller coaster called motherhood and I’m glad that I get to share that with my readers.

What’s your personal style/beauty mantra?

Minimal, relaxed but elevated. What does this look like most days? A fuzzy cardigan, striped tee and washed black mom jeans paired with Vans sneakers and a super-chic handbag. My beauty mantra is pretty much the same … simple is best.

What would the Mother’s Day of your fantasies be? And what, in reality, does Mother’s Day usually look like at your house?

An uninterrupted sleep followed by breakfast in bed and snuggles with my family! But this is my first Mother’s Day being a mom of two so most likely I’ll be woken up a few times in the night and be up by 7 a.m. My hubby is an excellent cook, but likely it will be breakfast on the table … not in bed.

Did motherhood come easy to you, or were there challenges?

My husband always says how easy motherhood comes to me, but of course there are challenges and not every moment is Instagram perfect. Motherhood to me is full of contradictions. From feeling like your little ones are attached to you 24-7 to feeling lonely and missing grown-up conversations. From looking forward to moments away from your kids, but then all you do is scroll through photos on your phone of them when they’re gone. It’s about riding through these emotions and being resilient above all else.

The hardest thing about being a mom? The best thing?

The hardest thing has to be losing a little bit of your old identity and finding what this new life as a mom looks like on you. Especially in those early days when you literally have a baby attached to you, it can be overwhelming. The best thing is the moment you realize, "I made this little human". From growing it for nine months to nurturing for the next 20 odd years, it’s the thing I’m most proud of out of all my accomplishments.
