Bleu Lavande Has A New Ambassador In Honour Of Its 20th Anniversary (Win!)

Bleu Lavande, the first company to cultivate lavender in Quebec, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in style. In addition to refreshing its brand image and the design of its packaging, Bleu Lavande is pleased to unveil its new emissary, Lysanne Richard, an athlete with an impressive and inspiring career. We chatted with Lysanne to learn more. —Vita Daily

Hello Lysanne! Please tell us a bit about yourself to start.

I am an extreme diver, circus artist, speaker, columnist and blogger, and I also appeared on the second season of Celebrity Big Brother Québec. In my high-diving career, I’ve accumulated World Cup victories and maintained the top three in the world on the prestigious Red Bull Cliff Diving circuit during all my years of competition. I love sharing my passion for sport and surpassing oneself and am constantly looking for my next challenge. I recently jumped from a hot air balloon at a height of 25 metres, into a frozen lake at 22 metres, and broke a world record last summer by diving from a height of 26 metres from a helicopter in mid-flight! I am also a mother of three kids and a mother-in-law of two.

Congratulations on being named ambassador for Bleu Lavande! How did this partnership come about, and what makes it a good fit for you?

Thank you so much! This is for sure a partnership I am proud of. My partnership with Bleu Lavande was a natural one for me has I was a fan of the brand before. The place where the lavender for the products is grown is also of significant importance for me, as my boyfriend and I took our first official photo as a couple there! Bleu Lavande and I share the same values: a vision for our health and the planet’s health.

As an athlete, what are some of your favourite Bleu Lavande products, and why?

I have so many favourite Bleu Lavande products, and all the new ones I discover I fall in love with! As a diver I do train a lot at the pool and the gym and my hands are often dry so the hand cream is one of my favourites. As a mom (this is a sport, too!), it’s important to me that my house is clean and smells good, so I use the brand’s surface cleaner a lot. We quickly pass from dinner to homework at the table! Another favourite product for my whole family is the 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner; I clean my hair often to take off the chlorine products of the pool and I love to have a natural product that doesn’t irritate my hair and skin. My kids have sensitive skin and we often had difficulty in the past to find products that didn’t irritate them, but not anymore thanks to Bleu Lavande!

Do you love taking baths, despite being in the water so much for your sport? What are some of your top tips for a beautiful bathing experience using Bleu Lavande products?

I do love to take a bath, relaxing and meditating in it. It helps my body and brain to renew. I even more appreciate it when I put a candle on the side; the soy candle from Bleu Lavande is my favourite.
