As we approach Prince Harry and Meghan’s seventh wedding anniversary (can you believe that royal wedding was in May 2018?), her long-time makeup artist Daniel Martin has gifted us with a precise breakdown of the products used to create her radiant, no-makeup wedding makeup look.

The biggest surprise? What he used to create her soft nude lip colour. Plot twist: it was neither a lipstick nor a lip gloss.

Martin recently guested on the Breaking Beauty podcast and shared with hosts Carlene Higgins and Jill Dunn that he leaned heavily into Tatcha skincare—he’s the Global Director of Artistry for the brand—to create the ultimate lit-from-within-glow for Meghan. At the time of the wedding, Martin shares he was working for Dior and that was the line he used exclusively for the royal bride’s makeup. “Her whole face was pretty much Dior Backstage.” 

Meghan’s wedding makeup look included a softly smoked eye, full and fluttery lashes, and perfectly flushed pink cheeks. For her romantic, rosy lip he used two iconic products: Spice Lip Liner Pencil from MAC Cosmetics, topped with Dior’s Dior Addict Lip Glow Balm which is designed to enhance natural lip colour and add just a kiss of shine.

This wedding makeup has once again gone viral thanks to this podcast with Martin. Meghan even shared a clip of the chat on her own Instagram, which was also a clever move to drive traffic to her ShopMy website.
