A Toast To Health: North Point Brewing + Lions Gate Hospital Foundation Launch “Hospital for Here” Pale Ale

June 25, 2025

In a creative collaboration that’s raising both awareness and glasses, Lions Gate Hospital Foundation and North Point Brewing have joined forces to launch Hospital for Here—a limited-edition, non-alcoholic pale ale designed to support the Foundation’s Re-Imagine Rehab campaign.

Unveiled on June 25, 2025, this refreshingly brewed initiative is more than just a great drink—it’s a powerful tool to help transform rehabilitation care on the North Shore.

A Brew That Gives Back

The Hospital for Here pale ale arrives at a moment when non-alcoholic beverages are booming in popularity. With wellness-minded consumers driving the trend, the Foundation saw a unique opportunity to tap into this demand while funding a vital cause: the creation of a 25-bed intensive rehabilitation unit at Lions Gate Hospital (LGH).

Currently, many North Shore residents needing in-patient rehabilitation are transferred off-site to Vancouver’s GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre. The proposed unit at LGH would allow patients to start rehab at the bedside, resulting in faster recovery and better long-term outcomes—especially critical for the 700-plus stroke patients who arrive at the hospital each year.

“Access to immediate rehab care leads to faster recovery and improves long-term outcomes for patients,” said Judy Savage, president and CEO of Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. “This campaign means people can heal right here in their community—close to family, friends, and the North Shore lifestyle they love.”

North Shore Roots, Community-Focused Design

The non-alcoholic pale ale will be sold in distinctive 4-packs, with two collectible can designs featuring iconic North Shore locations. It’s available at all four Save-On-Foods stores in North Vancouver, North Point Brewing’s tasting room at 266 1st Street East, and select retailers throughout the region. The beer will remain available through the end of 2025, giving locals ample time to sip and support.

For North Point Brewing, the partnership is personal. Founders Sean Annable, Liam Jeffries, and Matt Legate all have deep ties to Lions Gate Hospital—including the births of their children—and are passionate about supporting their home community.

“This partnership represents everything we believe in as North Shore residents and business owners,” said Annable. “The Re-Imagine Rehab campaign is exactly the kind of cause that reflects our values: health, community, and helping our neighbours get back to the active lifestyle we all cherish.”

Cheers to a Stronger Tomorrow

With Hospital for Here, community support never tasted so good. Each sip helps bring specialized rehabilitation services closer to home—and one step closer to recovery for thousands of North Shore residents.
