Looking for the ultimate summertime escape—without ever leaving the city? On Sunday, July 13th, Vancouverites are invited to step behind the storied gates of Hycroft Estate for a dreamy, one-afternoon-only event that promises to be part history lesson, part Bridgerton fantasy, and all-out enchantment.
Introducing the inaugural Hycroft Secret Garden Party—a rare opportunity to explore one of Vancouver’s most iconic heritage estates in full Edwardian glory. Located in the heart of Shaughnessy, Hycroft is usually closed to the public, but for this special occasion, its manicured gardens, grand halls, and hidden corners will be yours to discover.
Guests (dressed, ideally, in their Regency best) will sip wine, nibble on light bites, enjoy guided tours of the mansion, and meander through blooming gardens dotted with vintage cars and large-scale sculptures from the “Chaka Chikodzi: Art + Design in the Garden” exhibition. Live music, floral demos, historic fashion displays, and even a pop-up poetry artist round out the experience. With floral scents in the air and champagne in hand, you may just forget you’re in modern-day Vancouver.
Tickets are $48 and include access to all activities plus a welcome drink from Renaissance Wine. This exclusive 19+ event runs from 2 to 6pm—enter via the moss-covered “secret” gate on Marpole Avenue for the full effect.
