If you are planning to head down to the annual Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade on Sunday, February 22, make sure to bring your appetite. Two local favorites, Dicky’s Dumps and Say Hey Cafe & Deli, are joining forces for “Food + Fortune,” a one-day-only pop-up designed to keep you warm and well-fed while you celebrate the Year of the Horse.
Located at 156 East Pender Street—directly along the parade route—this collaboration brings together the handmade, small-batch dumplings Dicky’s Dumps is famous for with the creative, soulful touch of Say Hey Cafe’s Chef Lina Caschetto. Whether you need a quick grab-and-go snack or a cozy seat to escape the February chill, this is your ultimate festival pit stop.

The Food + Fortune Menu
The celebratory menu features a mix of comforting classics and culturally-inspired twists:
- Dicky’s Dumps Lucky Dumplings: Choose between Chicken and Ginger or a savory Vegetarian option.
- Crispy Chicken Leg: Served whole with a fragrant Ginger Scallion Oil.
- HK Street-Style Rice Rolls: Topped with traditional sweet and sesame sauces.
- Hot & Sour Soup of Many Fortunes: A hearty bowl to warm you up between lion dances.
- Celeriac and Nashi Pear Remoulade: A refreshing sesame chili salad topped with peanuts.
- White Rabbit Coconut Buns: A nostalgic treat finished with a White Rabbit glaze and piña crumble.
Warm Up with Sweet Sips
No parade day is complete without a hot drink in hand. You can choose from:
- Brown Sugar Ginger Tea: Brewed with longan and red date for a traditional energy boost.
- Hot Melon Milk Tea: A creamy, sweet way to toast to a prosperous new year.

The pop-up runs throughout the heart of the festivities, so you can fuel up before, during, or after the parade.
