Vancouver’s food scene is getting a flavorful shake-up as the dynamic dinner series FEAST & FRIENDS returns to DD Mau Chinatown on March 15, 2025. This time, Chef Tyler Hoang is teaming up with Chef JJ Hwang and Kyle Macintosh from NUI—the modern Korean neighborhood spot known for its refined comfort classics.

The result? A multi-course menu that creatively weaves together Vietnamese and Korean traditions with a playful, contemporary lens. Here is a taste of what is on the table:

  • Phó Gomtang: A soulful blend of NUI Gomtang broth and DD Mau chicken phó oil.
  • Fried Chicken Two Ways: Why choose between Korean Yangnyeom and Vietnamese lemongrass-calamansi glaze when you can have both?
  • Bo Ssam: Soy and coffee-braised pork collar served with gem lettuce and perilla.
  • Sweet Finishes: Treat yourself to a Monaka crispy wafer with red bean or a bright Vietnamese Yogurt Parfait.

To wash it all down, Lauren Park has curated a Korean-inspired cocktail program featuring a Nurungji (toasted rice) Old Fashioned and a nostalgic Melona-inspired drink.

Tickets are $98++ per person (two-person minimum), with seatings at 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Reservations are officially open, so grab your favorite foodie and get ready for a feast! —Noa Nichol

Absolutely loving the creativity behind this Viet-Korean fusion feast – the Phó Gomtang and dual-style fried chicken sound next-level. If this kind of bold cultural mashup gets you excited, you might also want to check out places like 19 Cleveland Mediterranean restaurant in NYC
