Paris Fashion Week FW26 has been making a big splash—literally. There was no shortage of impact this year, where designers leaned into bold shapes, striking prints, and punchy colours. Here are our biggest trend takeaways from Parisian runways. —Maddie Clerides
Checkmate

Seen on outerwear at Dries Van Noten, dresses at Chloé and blazers at Acne, Dior, and Rabanne, gingham was everywhere for F/W 26. Seen in both bold colours and subdued neutrals, this classic print stole the show at many presentations. Whether oversized or sharply tailored, the pattern felt fresh, modern, and anything but traditional.
Go big (or go home)

Maximalist, mega silhouettes were scattered all over the runways in Paris. From ginormous coats to XL dresses, designers are making big statements with their proportions. The result is a bold, almost theatrical approach to dressing that embraces volume as the main event.
Pretty Peplum

One of the biggest comebacks of the season was the peplum. Seen mainly in coats and cardigans in Dior, Balmain, and Stella McCartney, this flattering silhouette is back with an updated feel. Reimagined with softer lines and modern styling, it feels much fresher than its early-2010s predecessor.
Punchy Purple

Undoubtedly, this rich shade of purple is one of the top colours of the season for F/W 26. Seen in an arrange of styles, fabrics, and visions, this shocking purple was a staple of the runways. From head-to-toe looks to bold accents (and even in lipstick at Tom Ford), it added a vibrant energy to otherwise moody fall palettes.
Splish Splash

Vancouverites rejoice! Rainwear has never been so fashionable. Tom Ford, Saint Laurent, and Loewe all decided to waterproof some of their runway looks, which will elevate streetwear this fall. Think sleek trenches, glossy finishes, and technical fabrics that prove practicality can still feel undeniably chic.

I love how gingham is being reimagined for F/W 26—it’s amazing to see such a classic pattern feel so fresh across different styles and brands. I think the mix of bold colors and tailored silhouettes really brings new energy to it, making it more versatile than ever. It even reminds me a bit of playing Veck IO, where I experiment with different combinations to find what works best—I feel like fashion is doing the same kind of creative exploration here.

Love seeing all the energy and bold creativity coming out of Paris Fashion Week this season. The layering, the textures, the unexpected silhouettes—it’s pure inspiration. That said, when I think about translating runway magic into my real life, I always come back to building a apsule wardrobe womenc can actually wear every day without overthinking it. Classic Six understands that balance perfectly: timeless shapes, quality fabrics, and pieces that work across seasons. Paris gives us the dream, but a well-edited closet gives us the reality. Definitely taking notes from the shows and seeing which elements I can weave into my own go-to staples.
