Motherhood, But Make It You: Inside Nitsan Raiter’s Next Chapter (Win!)

What happens when “that girl” becomes a mom—and refuses to lose herself in the process? Enter Nitsan Raiter’s latest collaboration with PAUME: The NRF Edit, a limited-edition bundle inspired by her first chapter of motherhood, where self-care meets real life. Rooted in honest conversations around identity shifts, postpartum mental health, and redefining what it means to have it all, this launch is as meaningful as it is beautiful. We caught up with Nitsan to talk rituals, reinvention, and why showing up for yourself is the most powerful thing you can do. —Noa Nichol

You’ve built a brand and identity around being that girl—how did motherhood challenge that version of you, and what does “that girl” look like now?

Motherhood challenged my idea of “that girl.” I was figuring out how to show up as myself while also becoming a mom. There was a real shift from perfectionism to acceptance, from trying to control everything to learning how to be more intentional. I’ve come to realize “that girl” didn’t disappear – she evolved.

There’s still this idea that becoming a mom means slowing down or letting go of ambition, but for me it’s been about redefining what I want and showing up as unapologetically me. I still struggle with perfectionism, but I’m more focused on what feels aligned and sustainable. It’s more about a mindset: confidence, resilience, adaptability, and a lot more self-trust. I stopped seeing motherhood and identity as separate, and more as something I’m integrating together. At the end of the day, I want to be happy and make sure she’s happy, and I’ve realized those things don’t have to compete.

You discovered PAUME during your postpartum phase—what was one small, everyday ritual that unexpectedly helped you feel like yourself again?

For me, it wasn’t about carving out routines again, it was more so those in-between moments. What stood out to me was how easily PAUME fit into the chaos of my everyday life. Those small rituals – the texture, scent, even the act of applying something – all became so grounding in a way I didn’t expect whenever I found a few extra minutes. I realized self-care doesn’t need to be this big structured thing, sometimes it’s just carrying familiar products and habits into a new identity. PAUME became that for me, repeating small moments of care that made me feel a bit like myself again.

There’s so much pressure to “bounce back” after having a baby—what’s something you’ve intentionally let go of in this new chapter?

I’ve really tried to move away from the idea of “bouncing back” and shifted into “elevating” this new version of me. Getting to know her, giving myself room to experiment and grow. Of course there are moments where I feel different than I used to, but I’m reminded that my body gave me the greatest gift in my life. This perspective has made this chapter feel a lot more grounded, making it hard to be anything but grateful.

You talk about redefining identity rather than losing it—was there a moment where you felt like, “OK, I’m still me … just different”?

As Estelle approached her first birthday, I felt a shift almost immediately. When she turned one, it really hit me. There was this new sense of confidence that came with it, like I was stepping into this next chapter feeling more clear on who I am. Less about going back to who I was, and more about figuring where I fit now and becoming the best version of myself in this moment.

A big part of that has been taking care of myself again, feeling proud of who I’m becoming, and wanting to set that example for my daughter.

Be honest—what’s one part of early motherhood no one really warned you about, but you wish more women talked about openly?

One thing I don’t think people talk about enough is how difficult early motherhood can be in a truly raw and emotional way. I think it’s important we shift the narrative to show that motherhood is both beautiful and hard. It’s not one or the other.

For me, there was a lot of anxiety in the beginning. It’s something I experienced postpartum, and continue to navigate in waves. The responsibility of caring for someone else while also evolving yourself can feel so overwhelming in ways you don’t fully anticipate. It’s learning how to live with that uncertainty and do your best within it.

That’s why partnering with Postpartum Support International felt so meaningful. With 15% of proceeds from PAUME xThe NRF Edit are going directly to supporting families navigating postpartum depression and anxiety, because I think it’s so important that we feel less alone in this experience.
